Your baby is the size of a kumquat (source)

Today was our first visit with the ultrasound technician.
He reminds me of Billy Crystal, who I LOVE, but he talks A LOT so the appointment takes forever.
We were there for 3 hours. Did not love that...

I met my doctor who was recommended to me by my high school friend, Meghan. She was living in Lubbock as a nurse while her husband opened some restaurants in town. She had her baby at the hospital I'm delivering at. But as soon as she had her baby they moved to Austin! I guess she was technically the first one to know - I texted her after my at-home-pregnancy-test and asked her who her OBGYN was. She told me and said "All the nurses go to him; and if a nurse goes to a doctor he MUST be good!" So I was very comfortable meeting our doctor. Turns out he is very laid back, like the nurse was. He is Catholic so that was a nice surprise!

Farmer J saw what happens during a pap smear. I'll never forget his face during that! Hilarious! I was like "yep, someone's going to do that to your daughter one day- get ready!" He's in denial, of course.

So our ultrasound technician was a chatty Cathy. He talked about farming, the economy, pretty much everything except the baby. Not really...he did talk about the baby. We got a DVD of the first ultrasound and we bring that DVD to each appointment for more and more video.

Embarrassing moment: Farmer J and I have failed at parenting already. We lost the DVD of our baby! We had family spend the night after we returned from Jamaica and between the unpacking and house cleaning the DVD is stashed away "somewhere safe" I'm sure.

I'll try to find the pictures and add them to this post before our next appointment. It's just a bunch of black and white photos - who cares right?? I'm sure some of you do, so I'll start looking!

Until then...
